We ensure that equality, fairness, dignity and respect are central to the way that we work and carry out our duties. We aim to provide excellent customer service to our tenants.

When do SHS consult with Tenants

Sutton Housing Society (SHS) aims to actively involve tenants in the management of their homes and to provide responsive services, which meet tenants’ needs. SHS will work with tenants to improve their homes and the services it delivers to the tenants through encouraging involvement in the decision-making processes.

How we consult will depend on the number of tenants affected by the proposed change. We will always provide information in writing, either by letter or in one of our newsletters. We may also invite you to a meeting/working party, or send out a questionnaire for you to complete, or telephone you to try and get your thoughts.

We consult you if…

  • We need to vary your Tenancy Agreement and housing-related services
  • Improvements or major repairs are needed that affect you

We always report back to you after the consultation process has ended to update you on the outcome.

We will always give you notice (but won’t consult you) when your annual rent and service charges change.

To find out how you can get involved formally or informally in the management of your home refer to the section, Tenant Engagement and Ways to get Involved. SHS recognises the value and importance of your feedback however small and welcomes all comments in regards to the management of the services we deliver to you.
