You may or may not be aware of a rising talent on the music scene named, Ella Henderson.  She first came into the public eye back in 2012 when she appeared on ITV’s talent show, “The X-Factor” and since then she has found many admirers both for her good looks but more importantly her song writing and singing abilities.

This week sees the release of Ella’s latest track “Glow” from her already successful album, “Chapter one”. Her previous release “Ghost“, was number one in the UK and has so far spent over 10 weeks in the the top 40.

These are impressive statistics for an 18 year old, but for many who watched her first television audition it was obvious she was on a path to great things. And even though she didn’t make it to the X-Factor finals, Simon Cowell’s team at Syco Entertainment beat off the competition to sign her up and she was soon wowing the audience at the National Television Awards in 2013.

From our point of view, the release of Ella’s latest track, is an opportunity to assess how popular culture and high profile celebrities can affect the visibility (i.e. search results) of our own website, when certain Glow related words or key phrases are used in their publicity material. We recently saw a similar increase in search impressions when the skincare manufacture Proactive launched a promotion for the Glow skincare products.

So we’ve set markers in our Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster tools accounts and we’re now watching with baited breath to see if Ella Henderson’s popularity can rub off on our Wickham Design Agency. Will there be any marketing professionals amongst her fan base who might be interested in a website rebuild or corporate rebrand once they’ve sampled the delights of Ella’s golden tones and refreshing lyrics? Who knows, maybe Ella’s own team at Syco might stumble upon us an wish to use our services…   and if they ever need video extras or an office space to shoot a music video, we’re certainly not shy of being on screen ourselves 🙂  Either way, we think Ella’s career is set to emulate those of stars like Adele and Gary Barlow and we’re sure she’ll remain as down to earth as she is now, even when she’s making £millions !
