Every day we are faced with world events, life struggles, work issues etc that appear to be, and often are, completely out of our control. We watch stuff on the television, listen to events on the radio and read more information than we thought was possible on the Internet. With the media at our fingertips 24 hours a day, it is no wonder we can sometimes feel overwhelmed by it all.
It’s so easy in these situations, to bury our heads, play ignorance or pretend not to notice, sometimes that seems like the only solution! There is something we can do though. One of the many things that a lot of us have, admittedly not all of us, but most of us have time; this is where we are not so helpless but we are guilty of frittering it away.
We always want more minutes in the hours and more hours in the day and actually, when it comes down to it we can normally manage to find that time that we need, without too much sacrificial damage to other areas to our life. We manage, because that’s what we do.
So, instead of being overwhelmed by the things that are out of our control, we need to invest this time into things that we can control. These ‘things’ will be different for every person, but by investing our time and focus into all sorts of every day work and life matters, you could ultimately get better outcomes.
Before you dismiss this and say ‘I can’t possibly make more time’, just think…. There are aspects in our lives that are flexible, we are flexible and adaptable and we have the power to make those small changes that could make way for bigger things.
We’re not saying it’s easy, and solutions to fitting in a little bit of extra time to work, play, exercise, meditate or just sleep will not come straight away but we do adapt and we can manage it, it’s one of the things we can control.
At Glow, we equally feel the clock ticking – we certainly haven’t mastered time perfection! But what we have noticed is when a little more is invested in writing briefs, taking time out to watch videos to learn something new, researching a little deeper into marketing options, or re-reading a piece of artwork one last time before it goes to print, in the long run, minutes (and stress) can be saved. Sounds good to us!
…sorry, must dash, things to do and so little time 🙂
